Spring Into A New Belief!

If you’ve been taught how to do Business Strategy Sessions and find it creates anxiety and insecurity in your heart I totally get it. Have you thought about how much anxiety it causes your clients? Why not empower yourself with a new belief around strategy sessions and how to interact with your perfect clients?

Diana-on-PhoneWhen we offer Strategy Sessions for our clients we’re taught to find and focus on the deepest pain point a person is experiencing and through a series of invasive questions each penetrating deeper than the last, and we make an offer that we believe will create relief of that pain point.

It’s truly a brilliant business strategy to get new clients but lets look at it from a little different perspective.

Say NO to negativity?

Some believe the practice of a good business strategy session focuses on the client’s pain and  negativity surrounding that pain. When our client is at their rawest point we provide a solution with our product or service and at the same time ask for exorbitant amounts of  money.  This technique is frequently coupled with a comment such as, “If you don’t do something about this now how much longer are you willing to experience this pain?” Ouch!!

If you are challenged with why strategy sessions aren’t working for you it may be because your clients are smart enough to know you want to sell them.  If, however you can do a strategy session that makes a new friend without jumping on them to sell their product or service it may completely change the outcome of your efforts.

Here’s another thought…

Why would you want to leave your clients in a negative place when you hang up the phone? That’s not a great way to make a new friend or get referrals in the future.

When the pain grows throughout the conversation and the client begins to feel like you have the only answer, they can become very depressed when the cost of the program is prohibitive to their pocket book and perhaps driving them further in debt.

Bringing a client to the point of feeling raw is not a good place to go, especially if you haven’t been trained to council them into a better place before you hang up the phone. I don’t want my clients feeling miserable and thinking negatively about me when we part.  Do you?

Try this instead …

  • Focus on keeping your clients in a positive place.
  • Every nod of the head ‘yes’ is a vote for your friendship while building trust in your relationship
  • Listen first to what your clients need and confirm that you have heard them
  • When it comes to pain please refrain
  • Always leave your clients laughing before ending your conversation.

Move from creating a painful business Strategy Session to building relationships and trust while sharing creative solutions. Leave your clients on a positive note to add a willingness of client support when it comes to referrals.  Uplift their day to build a bond of relationship between you for the future.
